WebbHi guys!! I'm a noobie at clay, and I'm making a sculpture out of Sculpey. I modeled it out and brushed on multichrome mica powders and baked it. But, if you rub it or touch it, the powder comes off and ruins the effect. I've tried sealing it with clear acrylic medium, and gloss top coat nail polish( using scrap pieces to test on). WebbSealing can be done with a coat of permanent white glue (Elmers Glue All, etc) allowed to dry, which will also make bare wood non-absorbent and give a nice grippy surface for the clay added later; or you could paint the wood (but any exposed acrylic/latex paint that shows could darken some in the heat of curing).
